The Latest Lighting Tendencies
Today lighting is not only a functional element which is necessary to have in the room. It is one of the most important things in each interior design, which helps to form the overall style, look and character. Many famous design exhibitions are often dedicated to lighting.
Nowadays, the most popular tendencies are: eco-style, minimalistic style and Scandinavian style. All these tendencies are very laconic, thus can be successfully used in the modern interior design.
Speaking about the placement of the modern illuminants, it should be noticed that today designers don’t want to limit themselves with one general lighting object in the room. They prefer to place various standard lamps, bras and chandeliers in different parts of the room, in order to zone it and to highlight the needed things and objects.
It is worth telling about the materials which are extremely popular today. Thin glass, crystal and tiny details are out of fashion now. Metal, thick glass and other rude materials are on the pick. Besides, different combinations look also great (wood, plywood, metal, matte glass, etc.).
Lighting performed in classical style loses ground, as it cannot be combined with the actual tendencies (it looks really ridiculous). You can use Provence style in some cases (for example, small standard lamps with fabric plafonds decorated with floral prints).
Not long ago, spot lighting placed on the complex ceiling constructions was very popular. It is replaced by simpler variants now (“bare” old-fashioned bulbs can be just hung on the ceiling).
The latest lighting tendencies are very “brave” and even brutal sometimes. Though, you shouldn’t follow them literally, only take into consideration the principal ideas and advice and try to introduce them into your own interior design, do it imaginatively and you will be pleased with the result for sure!
