Thomas’s son has continued the company until 1980 and then he left the business.
The Famous Vintage Seth Thomas Clocks
When Seth Thomas begun making his clocks, he would love to use walnut veneer as the main material of his clocks. But in 1888 he stopped using walnut veneer and started using cherry wood, oak wood, and walnut. He continued using that wood until 1913. In 1913, Seth Thomas Clocks Company replaced the wood with oak wood and mahogany wood for the constructions of clock case.
For the movements of the clocks, Seth Thomas’s company decided to use wood movements. And then in 1842, the company replaced their wood movements with brass movements. Those clocks were so antique and unique. Even now, those antique Thomas clocks are still so adorable. If you’re interested to buy Seth Thomas clocks, you’re suggested not to buy one from online shop unless you know how to see its authenticity.
