Join me on Ivel FM for some great music!

David Gale

You can hear me on Ivel FM whenever I'm taking a well-earned rest from studying Politics at University.

I can often be found at a number of public houses in Yeovil, before finishing the night at Chicago Rock Café. Rock on! In any spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, watching re-runs of Mr. Bean and The Office (if only the boss here was more like David Brent!) and listening to music. My CD collection varies, ranging from Barry Manilow to The Feeling - and everything in between.

Oh, and if radio wasn't showbiz enough, I've been an audience member for Channel 4's Deal or No Deal, where you could see my elbow in the background of almost every shot. No autographs please.

What's your favourite song ever? Depends on my mood really, but The Connells '74-'75 is top class.

What are the things in life that you like? Socialising, clubbing and eating good food. You really appreciate anything other than ready meals after 3 months at Uni.

Do you have any pet hates? Footballers who spit on television and disrespect the referee. For many youngsters these sportsmen are their idols and they should lead by example. Courtesy and manners aren't too much to ask.

What's your favourite meal? A good old fashioned roast chicken dinner. Home cooked of course.

What's your number one tipple? A cool pint of Snakebite. I'm definitely a student.

What's your motto for life? Treat others how you would like to be treated and if you don't ask, you don't get. Very true, particularly in this industry.

What's your proudest achievement so far? Becoming part of Team Ivel. I'm very lucky.

Licensing officers have slapped fifty pound fines on two Yeovil taxi drivers who were caught smoking in their vehicles - even although they were not carrying passengers at the time.   Taxi drivers are not allowed to smoke in their cars because it is deemed that this is their workplace. Should the smoking ban be extended to include all cars vans and lorries?

On Sunday 4th May, Neil Quigley and Matt Crabb from Team Ivel were broadcasting live from The Abbey Hill Steam and Country Fair. The event is held every year on the first May bank holiday. Despite the weather a great day was had by the team! There were many attractions on show from Steam Engines to Tractors and a visit from the Air Ambulance. Plus entertainment on the Ivel fm stage in the form off musical talent from Mandy.
